Zashiki Warashi Ornamental Hair Piece

The Zashiki Warashi is a house spirit, usually depicted in the form of a ghost child in either warrior costumes or patterned kimonos. They are known to bring good fortune and prosperity to the residence they haunt so they are considered as guardian spirits or gods of luck. Like most children, they are attracted to candies and toys. Zashiki Warashi are pranksters but are mostly harmless; however, if they are driven out of homes, the residence can sometimes fall into ruin or worse. 

This ornamental hair piece is inspired by this whimsical child figure and their playful characteristics. The colorful kimono patterns are fused into kimekomi balls to resemble children’s toys, and accompanied by the sound of jingle from golden bells.
