Tsuru Nyōbō Crane Bridal Hair Piece

Tsuru Nyōbō, or crane wife, is a crane who takes the form of a beautiful woman to repay human kindness with marriage. One popular tale tells the tale of a crane who returns to repay the kind man who saved her life by marrying him. She plucked her own feathers to weave into brocades to bring her husband wealth, but is tragically discovered and must return to her crane family in the end. 

This tale, like many other similar tales, depicts the romantic marriage between animal and human in folklore—that’s why for this Valentine, we want to feature the crane wife as our main inspiration. This design is inspired by the cocktail/tea party hair piece and bridal hair piece, mixed with a few traditional Japanese ornaments, including Kumihimo cords and Kanzashi flowers. It is further adorned with feathers, tassels and more. This is a perfect gift for yourself, family, children or friends as well as cosplayers and other hobby enthusiasts.
