Toyotama Hime is the daughter of the Sea God, Watatsumi, in Japanese mythology, and known as the paternal grandmother of the first emperor of Japan. She married a hunter named Hoori who found his way to the underwater palace, Ryuuguu after losing his fishing hook. They were happily married for a while but when she was preparing for her childbirth delivery, she warned her husband not to peek at her real form. He broke the promise and walked in on her eight-legged dragon form, and feeling betrayed by him, she left behind her son and closed the path between sea and land forever.
This hairpiece, inspired by Princess Toyotama, is highlighted with mini trumpet seashells. It is decorated with traditional elements as homage to her story, including Kanzashi flowers, tassels, Mizuhiki cords and golden bells. It can add an elegant and feminine charm to your hairstyle. This is a perfect gift for both adults and children as well as friends, cosplayers and other hobby enthusiasts.
